Course Information

Our next Beginners Course will commence on Tuesday 2nd September 2024 for 5 weeks, and other beginners courses may be available depending on numbers. On successfully completing the course participants will be awarded a certificate of training which is recognised by Archery GB clubs. We are able to offer club membership to a limited number of participants, however we regret we cannot guarantee everyone a place. Our club welcomes new members over 12 years of age, children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult, and we advise that they first try a taster session before doing a beginners course.

Beginner’s Course Schedule

• Week 1 – Introductions, safety briefing, allocation of equipment, warm up exercises, basic introduction to shooting.
• Week 2 – Demonstration of various bow styles, archery etiquette, shooting instruction.
• Week 3 – Introduction to scoring, shooting at longer distances.
• Week 4 – 2 dozen arrows competition, details of club membership.
• Week 5 – Fun shoot evening, question and answer session, presentation of certificates.
